I'm lucky and blessed all wrapped up into a small house that is home to 2 boys that I home school (one is 8 and autistic and the other very 10!) a dog, 3 cats, a squirrel and a very awesome husband! It's pretty hectic. So my quiet time is right now. It's almost 11 pm and everyone is asleep. This is the time my mind can wander and wonder. I want to finish the sweater top I'm sewing and get going on the quilt. I have to do my continuing ed course for my real estate license. There just isn't any time right now.
When life is at it's busiest things always seem to happen. There are little things around the house that need to be fixed. I know we need to break down and spend the money and have them taken care of...but, all those little things add up. Most of the time I just roll with the punches, this week I let them get to me. What a grumpy girl and I don't like that.
I realize it's me adjusting to the home school routine again. These "little things" are really bugging me. Any little modern convenience would be decadent to me this week.
No Ice Maker (we buy it from the store when we really need it)
No Dishwasher (It's me)
Washing machine rinse cycle doesn't work
Plumbing from the washer is plugged (roots?) Luckily it's in the garage and I've improvised a drain for it.
The kitchen faucet is old and too low to wash big pans and stays twisted to the left.
The bathtub drains really slow, probably roots! (At least it drains!)
One thing at a time! I told Mike I need a new faucet. Then we need to plumbing taken care of. It has to be done, especially, if we move and end up renting the house until we can sell it.
Stuff Stuff Stuff!
You know, whining in a blog is so much better than complaining to a friend over lunch or explaining it to my husband because it sounds like nagging and I hate that. I feel better already! I want to thank you for reading this rant from my tiny cottage. I love my home. I really do. It just needs a nip and tuck.
Have a Wonderful Weekend and...
Peace!

one day at a time and one task at a time is a good idea! hope the faucet gets installed this weekend. does it look like you're gonna go rent? i hope you get to!
Mike had a telephone interview today, however, it was per diem part time. We need him full time ...It would have been really close to his sister and where my 'dream house' is. They even lowered the rent to 1300!
Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. I've put too much emotional energy into leaving Florida. I'm going to focus on positives and be grateful for the many blessings in our lives.
Tell me you have good news!
